This site was intended to help me pass the two-week Easter holiday when I hadnt a penny to my name. I could have, and ultimately should have, spent the time studying, but hey, all work and no play..........

I decided to create a site that appealed to myself so I had to first think of a topic. Only two things sprung to mind. The first was football. Being a keen St. Mirren fan I considered this as a topic. Well, the web is bursting at the seams with the amount of Saints sites out there so I scraped that idea. Next up was drink. Afterall, its the typical student pastime isnt it? Thats it I thought, I am going to create a site about all the pubs I have visited. And that was that, the barfly was born.............

What I intend doing is providing reviews of various pubs around the West of Scotland. (although this will grow further afield shortly as I intend to do a little traveling). but, instead of sounding like some fat pompus restuarant critic I intend to make my reviews light-hearted and fun. But if I happen to come across some right s**t-holes then I will be only to happy to share that with everyone.

Since I have published my first few reviews I have been pleasently surprised to receive some positive feedback and I have decided to continue and see how far I can take this site. In addition to reviews I have also included various miscellaneus stuff in the section aptly named Jake's Corner. In here you will find other pub-related material plus a 'games room' where I keep the downloads. this includes some classic arcade games I've dug up. Basically, what I am doing is trying to add different stuff but all to do on the pub theme. Hopefully I can continue to come up with some new stuff (or things ripped off from other sites).

What I would like to see in the future is people contributing to this site their own reviews and pictures of pubs in their own areas. It could prove worthwhile building up a huge database of pubs all round the country grouped into towns. This probably wont happen but in the meantime I will strive to carry out this mission on my own. enjoy.................
